Lake Sara is a great fishing lake. Species include, bass, channel catfish, blue gill, white and black crappie. Effingham Water Authority and the Fisheries Committee continually work to improve fishing opportunities on the lake. The lake has several public access points for shore fisherman. They include the area surrounding the Community Building, The Post Oak Flatwoods and the Handicap Fishing Area by the dam. 

Lake Fishing Regulations

Bass- A protected slot of 15"-18' is in place. Bass measuring between 15" and 18" must be immediately released. Limit of 6 daily harvest for bass under 15" or over 18". These limits do not apply to white bass. 

Crappie- Limit of 25 (no size limit)
